Naturally, as the temps begin to rise, my shopping habits start to mirror that vacation mindset. And as a professional shopper (yes, it’s hard, even for me, to believe the job exists!), I’m good at weeding through thousands of products and narrowing in on the ones that are actually worth a purchase. So if you can’t wait for summer or need a little shopping inspiration, keep scrolling to get the details on 10 beachy things that I am crushing on hard this season.
1. Lack of Color Island Bucket Hat, $79
A hat is an obvious summer essential, but I haven’t been able to stop thinking about this crocheted style since it dropped earlier this month. This hat was handwoven by artisans in Indonesia and has a fun zig-zag brim that will stand out in a sea of canvas bucket hats.
2. Otherland Nectar Pop Candle, $36
Otherland makes my all-time favorite candles, so when the brand came out with its Beach Club Collection, it felt like the stars had aligned. All of the scents are incredible, but Nectar Pop is my top pick, thanks to its notes of mango, coconut cream and chili salt.
3. Vacation Chardonnay Oil SPF 30, $22
Sunscreen is always the first thing I pack in my beach bag, but this year my bottle of choice is Vacation’s Chardonnay Oil. Packed with vitamin E, jojoba and passion fruit oil, this SPF 30 leaves your skin protected, hydrated and glowy.
4. INDY Nolita Sunglasses, $79
I’m really loving the modern cat-eye-shaped sunglasses that are trending this spring, and this pair from INDY is at the top of my wishlist. Plus, these acetate sunnies are polarized to help reduce glare and improve clarity.
You might recognize Aurelle’s cute bikinis from Instagram, but you won’t want to sleep on the brand’s apparel. Baby tees are having a moment this year, and this pink one makes for a perfect beach cover-up or a casual, last-minute look with jean shorts.
6. Brinker + Eliza Heidi Bracelet, $118
I only reach for colorful jewelry during the summer, and this bracelet from Brinker + Eliza definitely fits the bill. Made of semi-precious gemstone heart beads, I love how unique each bead is and that no two bracelets will be exactly alike.
If you’re like me and like to douse yourself in Sol de Janeiro’s iconic Bum Bum cream, then you have to check out the brand’s newest edition to its product lineup: Beija Flor. The new fragrance is a gorgeous floral scent, and this set allows you to try it out in cream and perfume form.
I already have a crewneck sweatshirt from Billabong that I love, but I wear it so much that I could definitely use a fresh one. The brand’s crewnecks are cute, wildly soft and strike the perfect balance between keeping you warm without making you overheat on a summer night.
It’s rare to see me during the summer without my hair pulled back in a clip or a scrunchie. Emi Jay’s Big Effing Clips are actually big enough to securely hold all of my long hair and come in the absolute cutest designs (like this shell-inspired one!).
10. Aerie Waffle Short, $39.95
Last summer, I lived in Aerie’s sweatshorts, but this year I’m all about this waffle style. Perfect to wear over a bikini to the beach or even to bed, these cozy shorts come in four colors and wash and wear like a dream.
