A faithful dog in Turkey visited its owner every day while he was in the hospital.
When Cemal Senturk was taken to a hospital in the city of Trabzon for several days, his dog Boncuk routinely ran away to meet him. Boncuk followed the ambulance with Senturk inside of it to the medical facility when the incident first happened, according to the Associated Press.
Even after Senturk’s daughter brought the loyal hound home, Boncuk would run away like clockwork back to the hospital. A security guard at the facility claimed the pooch arrived each day at about 9 a.m. and would linger until nightfall in hopes of seeing Senturk.
For one sweet moment, the dog got its wish when Senturk was allowed to sit outside in a wheelchair and hang out with Boncuk.
“She’s very used to me. And I miss her, too, constantly,” Senturk told the Associated Press.
Fortunately, Senturk was discharged from the hospital after a few days. Now Boncuk doesn’t have to worry anymore.
In recent years, hospitals have started allowing pets to visit their hospitalized owners. According to Dog’s Best Life, this time spent together can help reduce pain, anxiety and aid in healing the owner faster.
