Find out why Starfield is one of the most anticipated games to launch in 2023

On this episode of Game On, host DJ Steph sits down with game reviewer, Mike Bitter (@geeklifemike), to discuss one of the most highly anticipated games of 2023: Starfield.

Created and developed by Bethesda Game Studios, the studio behind highly successful franchises like Elder Scrolls and Fallout, the expectations for the open-world space exploration game are sky high. “It’s probably one of the biggest RPGs that they’ve ever made,” says Bitter, who explains that Starfield is a gigantic, overwhelming (in a good way) experience.

With over 1,000 planets to explore, colonies to build, spaceships to customize, and enemies to battle, Starfield is set to provide an endless adventure of possibilities. “It’s just so much. It’s one of those games that you’re gonna literally pour 10,000 hours into,” says Bitter.

At its core, Starfield is an open-world RPG, but “open-world” barely describes the vastness and massive scope of the game. “I don’t even know if it’s a game that you can technically finish,” explains Bitter. “You’ll be playing that game probably for 10 years.”

For Bethesda, Starfield is the first new universe that the studio has created in 25 years. With legendary titles like The Elder Scrolls and Fallout under their belt, Bethesda is already at the top of the RPG world, and Starfield is sure to take them to even further horizons.

With Bethesda on their minds, Steph and Bitter break down two of the studio’s biggest hits, including the critically acclaimed open-world fantasy game, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, and the post-apocalyptic adventure, Fallout 4, which Bitter calls “one of the greatest games of all time.” So if gamers are anxiously waiting for Starfield, playing—or replaying—Skyrim or Fallout 4 is a great way to pass the time.

With Starfield preparing to blast off, 2023 is shaping up as a year to remember for gamers around the world, and the game will provide more than enough content to be worth the wait.
