There’s nothing cozier than sitting by a warm fire and listening to it crackle as you curl up on the couch with a plush blanket. However, cleaning and tending to a fireplace takes a lot of work. And if you live in an apartment, you probably don’t even have one. Alas, there’s another way to enjoy a fire a home!
FLÎKR’s Personal Concrete Fireplace is a mini tabletop fireplace that uses rubbing alcohol as fuel. It’s safe for indoor use and looks like a chic piece of decor.

To use, pour in a little bit of rubbing alcohol, light a match and set it aflame. Five ounces of rubbing alcohol will give you about 50 minutes of burn time.
By using rubbing alcohol, the fire won’t smoke, smell or dirty your ceiling. It only creates soot where the flame touches, which is inside the concrete base. However, soot appears when there’s a lack of oxygen. So, if you do notice more soot, try cracking open a window.
“FLÎKR Fire was born out of the desire for a simple, safe, indoor fireplace that could operate on clean-burning, inexpensive, and readily available fuel,” its website reads.
FLÎKR’s Personal Concrete Fireplace is also safe for cooking if you want to use it to make s’mores indoors.
One customer on Food52 wrote in a review: “We really enjoyed the concrete fireplace on New Year’s Eve. It sat right in the middle of the table where we could enjoy the flame while we roasted our marshmallows. It gets hot, but the included trivet protected the table from the heat.”
“We’ve used it next to our jetted tub, on our dining table, with wine and apps at our counter…instant atmosphere! [I] can’t wait to try it outside! It does burn a lot of alcohol, so stock up,” wrote another customer.
Get it on Food52 for $95 and create the ultimate cozy corner in any room in your home.
