I’ll say it: Galentine’s Day is so much more fun than Valentine’s Day. Like, yes, Valentine’s Day is fun and romantic and cheesy and all of the good mushy things. Still, I will always choose Galentine’s Day first.
Look, I refuse to believe that there is anything better than getting all of your closest friends together for the day (and night!) filled with laughter, tea (both tea-spilling and actually drinking tea), games, booze and just a bunch of food. Like, a whole lot.
Wait, what is Galentine’s Day?
Gather ’round my dearests and let me explain. Created by the ultimate best friend herself, Leslie Knope, Galentine’s Day lands on Feb. 13 of every year. It’s a day to celebrate your friends as the real Valentines in our lives. We should be celebrating them all day, every day, but this is the day to do it with a little bit more pink and glitter.
What started as a fictional holiday quickly morphed into one of the best days of the year, and it should be celebrated with as much care as Christmas, Halloween and New Year’s Eve combined.
Also, an important reminder: Literally anyone can celebrate Galentine’s Day. The entire point is to celebrate the people who you love so, so deeply in a platonic way.
If you’re stressed about how to pull off the most extra and over-the-top shindig this Galentine’s Day season, chill, I got you. Just text the group chat with a save-the-date and scroll down to shop everything you need to pull off the best G-Day the world has ever known.
