Gen Z is using the ‘If I had to speak about love’ trend to profess their feelings for random yet lovable things: ‘target audience reached’

Surprise! Gen Z has created yet another TikTok trend, and this time they’re declaring their undying love for unexpected (and, at times, niche) things.

As a sound bite from TikTok poet Isaiah Quinn (@_isaiahquinn) plays, users share two photos. The first is a picture of themselves with the words, “If I had to speak about love,” over it. The second is a picture of the thing they “love.”

New York City-based fashion and beauty aficionado Maria Marzullo (@mariaaamarzullo) used the trend to share her penchant for a specific type of croissant.

“I’m glad I’m on almond croissant Tik tok”

“target audience reached,” one user wrote on Maria’s video.

“Omg and the almond filling,” another replied.

“I’m glad I’m on almond croissant Tik tok,” someone wrote.

Canadian content creator @haddz shared her undying “love” for Nestea.

“Nothing better than an ICED COLD nestea, ya know when it’s covered with condensation”

“Omggg I’m not the only one,” someone wrote.

“These are my people,” another declared.

“Nothing better than an ICED COLD nestea, ya know when it’s covered with condensation,” one user replied.

TikTok user Kim (@kswynie) isn’t shy about professing her attachment to a certain Starbucks beverage.

“I literally saw this Tik tok and then opened the Starbucks app to order”

“My drink order for the last 4 years,” someone revealed.

“Tastes different every time I order it <3,” another shared.

“I literally saw this Tik tok then opened the Starbucks app to order,” one user wrote.

Seattle-based designer Mar (@marykorlindowns), on the other hand, professes their love for a type of camera that’s experiencing a resurgence at the moment.

“She was my baby in 2009, and shes my baby again,” she writes.

By way of this trend, TikTokers are given the opportunity to playfully share the things they cherish and hold dear in a quirky way.
