Marc Jacobs has been a constant proponent of men wearing heels for years, and his latest demonstration of this philosophy has his fans’ jaws on the floor — for all the right reasons.

The American fashion designer recently upped his game, ditching the light work of pumps for a pair of towering platform five-inch boots, which, according to his clever Instagram caption, were made specifically for his hiking needs.

The boots, designed by fashion designer Rick Owens, are made of 100 percent leather inside and out, with the exception of their rubber soles. They also contain elastic panels on both sides of each boot, as well as pull tabs on the back.

If you’re interested in making these a part of your personal wardrobe — keep in mind that they’re certainly in splurge territory — they currently retail for $1,760 on the official Rick Owens website. If you want to save some cash on the originals, they’re also available at a 44 percent discount on SSENSE!

For those who would rather achieve a similar look without the designer label attached however, ASOS currently has an impressively similar option available for less than $60! Unlike Owens’ product, the upper of these are made of textile, rather than leather, and the heel and platform length are not as steep.
