Taking a curling iron to your hair isn’t as simple as it seems. For starters, it always takes longer than you expect to get your desired look. And even if you do create supermodel curls, you probably also got a burn trying to get all those missed spots.

Well, no more.

In this episode of Pretty Beautiful, video producer Lisa Azcona tries a viral hair curling trick from TikTok. To save time curling her hair, Lisa puts her hair in a high pony, then uses a curling iron to quickly curl the ponytail.

“I think this hack can really come in handy on those days when you’re in a rush or you’re feeling lazier than usual,” Lisa says.

To try the hack yourself , start with straight hair and put it up in a high ponytail with a scrunchie. Separate the ponytail into four or six pieces, depending on the thickness of your hair and how tight you want your curls. Apply a heat protectant, and then curl the sections one by one. Lisa uses NuMe’s Classic Curling Wand, which has a ceramic barrel and uses negative ions to combat frizz and add shine.

Take out the hair tie, touch up your curls (if you’re even that dedicated) and marvel at your perfectly curled hair. Finally, set your locks with some hairspray. You know you want these curls to stay.

Lisa loved her final look, a beach wave curl that’s loose and natural.

“This was super easy and required minimal skills, which was important to me since I don’t really use curling irons too often. One thing to note though is that this hack might not work on different hair textures, and it may take some people longer than others to get desired results.”
