Ladders are often present in homes, providing a little extra height when needed for home improvement. But if you dare to decorate with an otherwise impractical ladder, all hell breaks loose.

Home decor ladders have a little bit of a bad reputation for being plain silly home decor. At worst, they’re labelled as pure millennial trash. But let’s all chill out a bit. Home decor ladders are great — and chances are you could actually use one.

Sure, these aesthetically pleasing ladders often aren’t functional as actual ladders. Often called blanket ladders or towel ladders, these vertical storage solutions are perfect for draping blankets, towels or even magazines. Even if you are unable to scale them for a little extra reach, they do have a function — and it’s a dang good one for small spaces.

Decor ladders can add a bit of pizzazz to a boring wall, all while helping to store items that you always struggle to organize. Have a couch full of crumpled blankets? Hang ‘em on the ladder. No linen closet? You don’t need one with a towel ladder.

The chances are a decor ladder could provide some much-needed decorative storage in your home, even if just for your bathrobes or commonly worn cardigans.
