On Tuesday, May 12, Zach Roelands returned home from the store to discover that his town had been taken over by 200 hostile intruders.
These hostile intruders weren’t your average criminals, though. As you can see in a video Roelands uploaded to Twitter, they were actually a bunch of escaped, angry goats.
“When I got back from the store all the goats had broken through the fence and were recking havoc on our street,” Roelands wrote. “This is the craziest thing to happen all quarantine.”
In a follow-up tweet, Roelands explained that the goats “come by … 3 days a year to clear dead weeds off the hill behind [his] house.”
As Zach’s father Terry told NBC Bay Area, one of the naughtier goats started breaking the boards on the fence to try to eat the flowers on the other side — and eventually, all of the other animals followed suit.
Once the fence was broken, the goats decided to run around the neighborhood, eating and pooping on everything they came across.
“They ate all the plants and pooped all over the grass,” Roelands wrote. “You know, more fertilizer so I’ll have to mow it twice as often.”
After a few minutes, one of Roelands’ neighbors was able to get the goats back behind the fence.
