It’s true that 2020 brought about a sudden increase in the use of Clorox wipes, hand sanitizers and other disinfectants, but it’s safe to say our new cleaning habits aren’t going anywhere any time soon.

While you can finally find most cleaning supplies in stock, what if you never had to buy a cleaning product again because one gadget could replace them all?

Instead of stockpiling on cleaning supplies, HoMedics has a better solution. The company has created a way to turn ordinary tap water into “aqueous ozone, which is a fancy name for ozonated water.” The Ozone Clean Multipurpose Cleaner uses ozone as an all-natural solution in order to clean, deodorize and sanitize 99.99 percent of germs.

If you’re wondering just exactly how this can be as good as other disinfectants, I spoke to HoMedics’ director of new product categories Tommy Galloway to learn how this ozone cleaner works.

“Ozone Clean was designed to be just as powerful as the name brand cleaners, but in some cases faster and without the chemicals.” Galloway said. “As an example, most leading chemical sprays and wipes require the surface you are cleaning to remain visibly wet for as long as two to four minutes to kill 99.999 percent of germs. Used as directed, OzoneClean requires only one minute to reach that same level of sanitizing efficacy on common household bacteria. And it does so by using nothing but normal tap water!”

Using lab testing, HoMedics found that the Ozone Clean has been proven to kill household bacteria and viruses such as E. coli, salmonella and staph and more in just 30 seconds. Not only can you use it on countertop surfaces throughout your home, but it’s safe enough to use on fruits and vegetables, bedding, toys, furniture and other household items.

And the best part is, the bottle does all the work for you. While on its stand and with just a touch of a button to power it on, you’ll see it activates the tap water from your sink into ozone. Once you see the water bubbling, you’ll know the bottle’s “ozone generator” is on and working to supercharge the water into a sanitizer. And when you see the generator’s light turn blue, it’s safe to use on any nonporous surface.

If one of your goals of 2021 was to pair down the amount of cleaning supplies you have, the Ozone Clean is an effective three-in-one cleaner that will save you space and money.
