If you’re continuing your streak of making more meals at home, this episode of Home Hacks features three easy recipes you didn’t know you could make in a blender. In this episode, you’ll see a step-by-step tutorial of how to make homemade butter, flour and pancakes in a blender.
While these recipes for butter and flour can be used for anything, these hacks are best used all together to make pancakes.
To make the butter, first blend two pints of heavy cream. Once blending, the buttermilk will begin to separate from the butter. Next, strain the butter over a strainer — but be sure to reserve the buttermilk for this pancake recipe, too.
To make the flour, blend one and a half cups of oats — and that’s it! You’ll have instant oat flour.
Then, to begin the pancake batter, pour the one cup reserved buttermilk into blender with the flour. Add half of a banana, one egg, one teaspoon of baking powder, a fourth teaspoon of baking soda and one teaspoon of vanilla. Blend until well combined and cook on your favorite nonstick surface with the homemade butter. And be sure to top the cooke pancakes with the butter, too. And maple syrup — obviously.
