Setting up a functional and productive work-from-home space doesn’t require much. If you have a favorite spot in your home that you’ve proclaimed as a new office while adapting to remote work life, you might as well fill it with accessories and other essentials that will help you actually separate living and working.
While one of the first things you should invest in is a comfortable office chair (we found this one on Amazon for only $50) and a desk (it’s the adult purchase you’ve been holding out on), the next best thing to up your productivity is an external computer monitor.
If you’ve been hunkering over your laptop for months on end but were used to a full-sized computer monitor in your office, I’m here to let you know that there’s *actually* affordable monitor options.
One in particular, from HP, is marked as an Amazon’s Choice product and is known to be one of the best computer monitors available on Amazon.
With over 10,000 reviews, shoppers are raving about HP’s 23.8-inch LED computer monitor that has built-in speakers, can rotate to either a landscape or portrait view and has an LED back-lit panel for optimal viewing.
But don’t just let this monitor’s affordable price and high rating convince you — take it from some of the customers who have had more productivity at home thanks to this easy upgrade.
Plus, no matter if you’re a Mac or PC user, it’s compatible with both computer types.
“This is a Cadillac,” one reviewer said. “I previously bought an LG to go with my MacBook Pro, and it didn’t work and was poorly made. It also has the correct height, so I didn’t have to buy an additional monitor stand, so saved another $25.”
“This monitor is exactly what I was searching for and exceeded my expectations!” another shopper said. “The height/tilt adjustment is easy as pie, and I look forward to being able to work at my desk while standing (without the help of expensive desk platforms).”
For those who are doing more design-based work, this monitor is a great pick.
“I’m also impressed by the quality of the screen and the six different viewing modes, which includes custom adjustments,” the shopper continued.
“I use my screen for gaming, movie watching and photo-editing/graphic design, and I’d say that it is well-designed for all of them. When I say 10/10 would recommend, it’s not for the sake of using a meme or being ironic, I truly mean it!”
With so many pros, a few users did mention one similar complaint that the monitor’s colors are off. However, other shoppers said you can easily calibrate the screen to adjust the contrast and other color settings to your liking.
While this HP monitor was in stock over the summer, it quickly sold out and is luckily now back in stock as of September 11. But because of its 4.6 out of five-star rating, if you’re in need of a high-quality computer monitor for cheap, you’re going to want to act fast.
