The beauty community has had a wild year of launches. In the midst of festive sets dropping in time for the holidays, there’s an entirely new line of Huda Beauty foundation sticks. Plus, there are nine new shades introduced in this foundation stick line.
If you haven’t heard, Huda Beauty has been dubbed the most popular beauty brand of 2020, according to the Cosmetify Index. The brand first launched with 30 shades of its #FauxFilter Full Coverage Matte Foundation in 2017. Now, three years later, Huda Kattan is introducing beauty lovers to a different version of the foundation. With a more natural finish, the #FauxFilter Skin Finish Buildable Coverage Foundation Stick is here.
Faux Filter Skin Leaves A Natural Finish
The formula of these Huda Beauty foundation sticks is much different from the brand’s initial liquid formula. Besides its consistency, the creamy stick foundations are also fragrance-free and non-comedogenic. Even in hotter climates, the foundation stick fights against sweat and is water-resistant. Not to mention, the stick offers full coverage for up to 10 hours.
What’s also new about these Huda Beauty foundation sticks is the shade range. Compared to the first foundation which only came in 30 shades, this one comes in 39 shades. The brand has also now extended the line past its first five-shade families to eight. With new additions like Vanilla, Panna Cotta and Milkshake for fair complexions, Toasted Coconut, Latte and Beignette for medium complexions and Coffee Bean, Hot Fudge and Lava Cake for rich complexions, the collection features a balance among all of the shade families.
After trying one of the Huda Beauty foundation sticks for myself (shade 530G Nutmeg by the way), I can tell it’s super hydrating. It’s also very creamy, so it doesn’t drag along your face like other complexion sticks. This one glides across my skin. Also, since I am mostly a full face beauty queen, I can say with confidence, I felt moisturized even under my Laura Mercier setting powder.
The new foundation stick isn’t the only newbie to the brand. Huda Beauty has an accompanying Water Jelly Hydrating Face Primer, which, yes, has a hydrating jelly texture. Plus, there’s even a Build and Buff Double Ended Foundation Brush to blend out foundation smoothly.

As someone who runs at the sight of a potentially dry foundation stick, this one is creamy but lightweight. However, it’s buildable, so I can choose how heavy-handed I want to be without looking caked up. If you’re someone who likes to dress up or dress down your face, this is your stick.
