Woman discovers husband’s years-old ‘secret’ while putting on new shoes

A TikToker is going viral after revealing the strange way she discovered her husband’s romantic years-old secret.

Popular TikTok user Anna Mellor (@mellorlite) explained the situation in a video uploaded in late March. In it, she revealed how she found out her husband had been leaving her secret messages for six years, all unbeknownst to her.

“I just discovered a six-year secret my husband has been keeping from me,” Mellor captioned her post.

It all started when Mellor looked inside her new shoes. The Fila sneakers, which she bought used, featured a message hidden inside reading “I Fila lot better when ur around.”

Mellor called her husband, Rory, to tell him about the discovery.

“I was like, ‘I just found a love letter in my shoes,'” she explained.

Me thinking it was a love letter for someone else has same energy as when Rory was proposing and I thought the ring was somebody else’s that got lost at the beach😂😂

Rory, however, seemed confused.

“He’s like, ‘Are you being serious?’ Acting as if I should know what’s going on.”

As it turns out, Rory wrote the message for Mellor. Apparently, it’s something he’s done to all her shoes — for six whole years.

Mellor thought her husband was joking, so she went back and pulled out several old pairs of shoes. And to her surprise, they also featured handwritten messages.

“Is that not the cutest thing you have ever seen?” she added.

TikTokers were also blown away by the story.

“The fact he continued to do it for years when you didn’t notice!” one user wrote. “10 pm night one I would have been like, ‘what the heck?! How did you not notice?!'”

“It’s so much sweeter that he kept doing it even though you never praised him for it,” another agreed.

“Ughhh getting up to take my shoes to my husband and start an argument,” another joked.

“Rory is setting the bar so high!!!!!” another wrote.
