‘I actually did it myself’: TikTok sound explained

Internet darling Julia Fox is back with yet another viral soundbite.

Back in February, Fox went viral on TikTok for her unique pronunciation of Uncut Gems, a film she starred in. This time around, a clip from one of the actress and socialite’s red carpet interviews has people obsessed. You’ve probably heard Fox saying, “I actually did it myself. Yeah,” on your FYP without even realizing it.

While attending Vanity Fair‘s Oscar party, interviewer Catt Sadler told Fox she “always has that strong eye makeup” to which Fox replied, “I actually did it myself. Yeah,” in her typical soft, high-pitched voice.

TikToker @keltieknight started the trend when she used a shortened version of the clip with the caption, “Me when people ask about my spray tan.”

There are now 78,000 videos associated with the sound @keltieknight created. People are using the audio to celebrate all of their accomplishments — no matter how bittersweet.

“You’re so mature for your age. Your parents raised you well,” @nickgrigolia wrote in the caption as he lip-synced, with faux tears, “I actually did it myself, yeah.”

“Me ruining my whole day after starting an argument with my boyfriend for no reason,” @tamzintaber wrote in the caption

“Me submitting my essay in front of my teacher knowing Turnitin is gonna say 87% plagiarised,” joked @sollywollyxo, sporting a filter of Fox’s eyeliner

“When you make yourself mad because you overthink everything,” @rayleenvega said in a video
