Thrifter turns $5 wrap skirt into 3 outfits without sewing a thing

Thrifting isn’t just a great way to save money and the environment, it’s also a way to tap into your creativity.

When you’re shopping at Goodwill or Housing Works, you’ve got limited options. So it only makes sense you would have to use some ingenuity when it comes to building a wardrobe. It’s not uncommon for thrifters to wear their pieces in unconventional ways.

Iesha Gilchrist thrifts so much she has two TikTok accounts where she shares her secondhand finds. The stylish mom is pretty much a pro upcycler. Gilchrist flexed her serious skills when she showed how she turned a simple wrap skirt into three different looks — no sewing involved.

“Wanna see a magic trick?” Gilchrist wrote in the caption.

She picked up a $5 wrap skirt with a red and blue patchwork print. For the first outfit, Gilchrist wore it as intended. To create a second look, she tied the skirt around her neck. Then she pinned the rest in place to create an asymmetrical halter dress with a low-cut bust.

For her last ensemble, she pinned the wrap skirt to make a mini tube dress that would be perfect for a night out. Three outfits for $5 is a whole lot of bang for your buck.

“The way your mind works is amazing,” someone commented.

“Wow,” another person said

“The definition of ‘limit yourself and lose yourself,'” a user wrote
