Going to Korean bathhouses from an early age and seeing their mothers and grandmothers carve out time for daily self-care impressed upon Glow Recipe co-founders and co-CEOs Christine Chang and Sarah Lee the importance of taking care of your skin with a holistic approach. Achieving glowing, healthy skin was the goal, and the key to achieving it was natural ingredients like superfruits paired with clinically effective actives, infused into sensorial, approachable formulas. Chang and Lee met at L’Oreal in Korea and the U.S. and established Glow Recipe as an online retailer of clean, cruelty-free K-beauty brands in 2014. They eventually created their own products in 2017. Among their most popular products is the Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask, inspired by the childhood memory of their grandmothers rubbing watermelon rind on the skin to help calm irritation, and Watermelon Niacinamide Dew Drops, which recently went viral on TikTok for creating instantly soft, bouncy skin. With Glow Recipe being one of the fastest-growing indie skin care brands at Sephora and in over 1,800 stores worldwide, Chang and Lee have perfected their own recipe for Korean American success.
