Hometown: New York, N.Y.
For Xi’an-born Jason Wang, the 34-year-old CEO of Xi’an Famous Foods, highlighting the flavors of his birthplace was a no-brainer. After his father opened Xi’an Famous Foods in 2005, Wang saw an opportunity to expand on what his father had built, bringing authentic Shaanxi province dishes to New Yorkers who wanted to expand their palate. Not only has Xi’an Famous Foods grown from a single storefront in Flushing, Queens to a multi-location business around NYC, the family business also boasts its own cookbook and meal kits that can be shipped to anywhere in the contiguous US. Wang has also been named as a nominee for a James Beard Award and listed among Forbes’ 30 under 30.
