In The Know Honors: Chanice McClover-Lee

Youth organizer and author
Age: 18
Hometown: Fort Lauderdale, Florida

As early as the age of 14, Chanice McClover-Lee knew she wanted to effect change through her writing. What started as a blog dedicated to discussing social justice, history and politics turned into a larger effort to encourage her peers to be more involved in their communities. In 2018, the now-Howard University student published Young Revolutionary: A Teen’s Guide to Activism to rave reviews. That same year, she was recognized as a 2018 Young Futurist by The Root. A youth organizer, McClover-Lee has also taken part in multiple campaigns, including advocating to restore voting rights for felons and raising funds for teenage girls in developing countries through the United Nations Foundation’s Girl Up campaign.
