Activist and organizer advocating for Black transgender people

Raquel Willis is an Award-winning activist, writer and public speaker working to elevate the dignity of marginalized voices, particularly those of Black transgender people. She has worked as an organizer building programs like Black Trans Circles at the Transgender Law Center. She’s also worked with organizations to build spaces to discuss trauma and violence to give Black trans women the tools they need to articulate what is happening around them. She made history when she was hired as the first transgender woman in a leadership role at Out magazine. She will be releasing her debut memoir in 2022.
