Schuyler Bailar made a splash as the first openly transgender NCAA Division 1 swimmer to compete for all four years of college. Since graduating from Harvard in 2019, Bailar has made it his mission to travel and speak about inclusion, body positivity, mental health awareness and how to be an ally. He won the SMYAL Community Advocate Award in 2016, was featured in Out Magazine‘s OUT 100 in 2017 and was named 2020 LGBTQ Nation Instagram Advocate of the Year. He has a book coming out in September 2021 called Obie Is Man Enough, which is a coming-of-age story about a transgender tween swimmer.
