Environmental activist, hip-hop artist, model
Hometown: Portland, Ore.
As both a solo hip-hop artist and one-third of the musical group Voice Runners, Xiuhtezcatl uses his talent to speak up about the issues that matter most to him. For most 21-year-olds, that would be enough, but for Xiuhtezcatl — who’s also known as “X” — it’s just one part of his tireless activism. In addition to his music and modeling careers, Xiuhtezcatl has become a prominent climate activist. He spoke as an expert in this year’s Time 100 Talks and he previously served as the Youth Director for Earth Guardians, a worldwide environmental and social justice organization.
