TikToker gives tour of the ‘corner store’ that sells food and drinks for movie productions

The ISS Props corner store is blowing plenty of minds on TikTok.

Thanks to a viral video from a prop company working on Hollywood productions since the ’70s, viewers are getting a behind-the-scenes look at the food and drinks appearing in movies and TV.

It’s just the latest mega-popular clip to share some little-known movie magic. Last year, a food stylist went viral after revealing actors’ tricks for fake eating on camera. Before that, a TikToker shared how he became a “seat filler” for awards shows.

ISS Props has plenty of videos showing their production work. But this recent video seemed to draw an extreme level of interest. The clip garnered over 1.7 million views. And in it, it shows the “corner store” where the company sells its movie-friendly food, drinks and more.

As the narrator explains in the video, using name-brand food and drinks can be costly or legally tricky. This is why many productions often turn to companies like ISS for help.

Major prop companies produce these items with their own graphics, meaning TV shows and movies can use them freely. It’s why you see the same fake beer brands, like Heisler, and fake chip brands — like Let’s, which ISS created — over and over again.

ISS Props’ TikTok shows all kinds of prop brands — from cereals and mints to wine and soda. The company even shows how it made the graphics for American Colonial Beer, a beverage that shows up in the first season of Stranger Things.

The inside look blew TikTokers away. Many were jealous to learn that teams of designers spend their days making graphics for fake brands.

“If, as a child, I had known this was a career option, I would be in Hollywood right now,” one user wrote.

“Dude, this is so cool!” another agreed.

“Y’all are living my graphic design dream,” another wrote.
