Who is Julia Rose? Meet Jake Paul’s on-again-off-again girlfriend

Looks like influencer and boxer Jake Paul is back together with his ex-girlfriend Julia Rose.

Instagram model Rose has 440,000 Instagram followers (after several bans from the platform) and is known for being a bit of a prankster. She’s founder of a racy publication, no stranger to controversy and Paul’s on-again-off-again girlfriend. Here’s everything you need to know about the social media star that loves to bare it all.

Who is Julia Rose?

Rose was born in New Orleans on Dec. 30, 1993 and is currently 27 years old. She grew up in Texas, then moved to Los Angeles in her early twenties to pursue an entertainment career. At 22, she joined the fourth season of MTV’s dating reality series Are You the One?

Rose is the founder of ShagMag

She created ShagMag, an online magazine that is often compared to Playboy. The publication features topless photos of women, dating advice and sports.

There was a void in the market. The men of my generation are in need of a platform covering their favorite things: sex, sports, dating and boobs,” Rose told the New York Post.

Her biological father and stepdad no longer speak to her

Rose grew up in a conservative family and wasn’t allowed to wear a bikini until her senior year of high school. Her birthparents split when she was young and her stepfather adopted her. She didn’t meet her biological father until she was 13. Her recent career choices have strained some of her relationships.

“My mom has a ‘don’t ask, don’t tell’ support [policy]. My dads don’t really speak to me. I just don’t think they get it,” she told the New York Post. “But part of my job is to push people past their comfort zone.”

She was banned from attending Major League Baseball games

On Oct. 27, 2019, Rose and influencer Lauren Summer flashed their breasts at Houston-Astros pitcher Gerrit Cole during Game 5 of the World Series. She and Summer were removed from the arena and banned from attending future MLB games. Cole also blocked Rose on Twitter. The stunt was a trick to promote ShagMag.

She was arrested for altering the Hollywood sign

Back in February, she and YouTuber Jack Tanney were arrested for changing letters on the iconic Hollywood sign to read “Hollyboob.” Rose said she did it in protest of censorship after her Instagram accounts were disabled for posting nude photos.

“This was to show them that I still have a voice, Rose told DailyMail.com. “My business for ShagMag with almost 1 million followers also got disabled this year due to nudity, but I’m not doing anything more than what Playboy is doing so I think they’re discriminating against my accounts.”

Rose began dating Jake Paul in February 2020

The couple met on the set of Paul’s music video for “These Days.”

“We had kind of a quick 15-minute conversation… it was a really cool moment. That one-on-one moment… I was not really expecting at all from him,” she said on the podcast Impaulsive.

But by March the two had split. Paul revealed in a vlog that Rose had dumped him.

“I’m hungover, depressed and heartbroken because my girlfriend dumped me, because I’m a f******* idiot,” Paul said. “Julia, if you’re watching this please take me back. Guys, if you’re in a relationship, don’t take what you have for granted.”

But love isn’t dead. On August 8, Rose posted a photo of her and Paul canoodling at the beach.

However, people on Twitter began to insult Rose for getting back together with Paul. Some called her a “gold digger” while others accused her of being with him “for the free clout.”

Paul did not defend Rose from the haters. But on August 3, he had previously told the internet to stop bullying Rose in a promo video for his anti-bullying foundation Boxing Bullies.
