Katy Perry celebrates the return of ‘American Idol’ with an unusual costume

Social distancing shouldn’t keep you from looking your best — or your strangest.

American Idol” judge Katy Perry had a little good, clean fun with her outfit during the first at-home episode of the singing competition show on April 26.

The singer jokingly said she wanted to be “as safe as possible” amid the global crisis, so she threw on a hand sanitizer costume.

She shared photos of her getup on Instagram.

Perry is no stranger to over-the-top outfits — who could forget her iconic chandelier look at the 2019 Met Gala, and the cheeseburger costume she changed into after?

She also dressed as “The Little Mermaid” villain Ursula for a Disney-themed night on “American Idol.”

The singing competition is back in full force, moving forward with live performances from the remaining 20 contestants in their individual homes.

That’s not the only thing Perry has going on these days — she’s expecting her first child with her fiancé Orlando Bloom this summer.
