Comedian LaLa Milan is always bringing the laughs on social media. When she’s not, you can catch her on her podcast The Salon or at Fit Girl Bod where she gives the rundown on her wellness adventures.
In this episode of In The Know’s Bag Secured, Milan visits the Los Angeles luxury boutique What Goes Around Comes Around. During her retail therapy session, she dropped over $6,000 on vintage Chanel and Louis Vuitton.
“I remember wanting these bags so bad to the point where I would just tell my mom, ‘I don’t care if it’s real or fake, just go ahead and get me one,'” Milan said.
She was of course talking about the classic, multicolored Takashi Murakami x Louis Vuitton speedy mini bag which ran for $3,500. Milan said she had two knock-offs growing up, but that’s beside the point.
“It’s about the print, the color and these are so like, nostalgic. They just remind me of high school and wanting to be cool,” she explained.
Then she noticed a rare Louis Vuitton PVC Prism Keepall Bandouliere. The transparent, monogrammed bag had an iridescent effect to it and a $7,850 price tag.
“Do you know how hard it is to get your hands on one of these? And I got one. I went through high hells and waters to get this bag,” Milan said. “Every time somebody sees it they’re like, ‘I love your bag!'”
Milan couldn’t help but get caught up in a $15,985 ivory Hermés Birkin Bag.
“Everybody wants to get a Birkin, people are spending their house money,” she said. “I will say that if I was to get a Birkin, I would do royal blue cause that’s a nasty statement color that you can put with anything if you ask me.”
But when it came to her own personal essence, the comedian felt her spirit was best captured by a $2,750 coral pink Louis Vuitton Graffiti Speedy 30 bag. She snatched it up immediately.
“Because it’s all over the place,” Milan joked. “That’s really what I am. The letters, like if you actually pay attention to it, it makes sense. Don’t let the confusion, confuse you.”
Her next purchase of the day was a $3,000 baby pink Chanel Vanity Caviar Leather bag.
“This bag is so cute. It’s different. I like the style of it. I like how it’s just something that you would carry around and pose like this,” Milan said, regally holding her hand out to showcase the bag.
She finished her shopping spree with a pair of $750 silver and crystal Chanel “CC” logo earrings.
