Le Creuset is known for its colorful, enameled cast-iron cookware. From deep red Dutch ovens to pastel purple mugs, the brand offers something for every kitchen. However, on Wednesday, Sept. 1, Le Creuset releases a new color — and it’s a beautiful, deep blue called Azure.
According to the brand, Azure is inspired by the mineral azurite, which is known for its healing properties and features deep shades of indigo with melty streaks of light blue. Le Creuset’s new colorway features a trendy ombré design.
Azure pairs well with white and neutral kitchens to add a crisp pop of color, or you could combine it with other brightly colored cookware for a bold aesthetic. Of course, you may have seen Le Creuset’s other blue color, Marseille. It’s one of the brand’s most popular colorways and has a similar gradient pattern. However, the difference is in the shading — Azure has more of a light-to-dark blue effect.
You can find the new Azure-colored cookware in stores and online at Le Creuset and Sur La Table. There will be at least 20 items in the new Azure color, starting with a Dutch oven in several sizes, a skillet, a saucepan, a square grill pan and a square griddle. However, there will be more Azure-colored items launching this fall.
Check out a few of the Azure Le Creuset cookware and kitchen items below.
Le Creuset first started in 1925 with the cocotte (the French word for Dutch oven). So, you could say the brand is an expert in making the versatile cookware item. Luckily, you can get its Signature Round Dutch Oven in several sizes in the new Azure color.
Signature Skillet, $190
The skillet is one of the most-used pieces of cookware in any kitchen. Since this one is cast iron, it’s safe to use on the stove, in the oven, on the grill — just about anywhere.
Square Grill Pan, $155
Love to grill, but hate to do it in the rain? Get yourself a grill pan and you can grill indoors any time or day of the year. Use it to quickly sear steaks or grill veggies. The pan is pretty enough that you can also use it to serve your meal at the table.
