Our Flag Means Death

Plot: This period romantic comedy about the Golden Age of Piracy is anything but historically accurate. The series stars Rhys Darby as Stede Bonnet, a gentleman who abandons his life of luxury to become a pirate, and Taika Waititi as Blackbeard, an infamously terrifying pirate captain. The pair forms an unlikely bond in a show full of diverse LGBTQ personalities. 

First Kill

Plot: This supernatural teen drama created by V.E. Schwab based on her short story follows two female protagonists, a vampire slayer and a vampire, who fall in love. 

RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars

Type: Reality TV Competition

Plot: The long-awaited all-winners season sees eight previous Drag Race winners, like Shea Couleé, Jinkx Monsoon and Raja, compete for the crown and a $200,000 prize. Like all of the previous seasons, yes, there’s a major twist. 

Heartstopper

Plot: Heartstopper is a coming-of-age romantic comedy about two queer teenage boys who fall in love as they navigate high school. 

Hacks

Type: Comedy/Drama

Plot: The Emmy-winning comedy stars Jean Smart as Deborah Vance and Hannah Einbinder as Ava Daniels. Deborah is a legendary comic looking to make a comeback, while Ava is an out-of-work comedy writer on the verge of cancellation.

Plot: RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars winner Trixie Mattel renovates a rundown motel as she prepares to launch her own getaway in Palm Springs.

Plot: The teen series stars Asa Butterfield as Otis Milburn, the son of a sex therapist who helps kids at school deal with all of their sexual problems, questions and hang-ups

Plot: A homage to NYC ballroom culture, the series features voguing houses from around the world who compete to win $100,000. 

The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder

Stream on: Disney+

Seasons: 1

Type: Comedy

Plot: This reboot of Disney’s animated series from the early 2000s has many returning stars and new LGBTQ voices like Zachary Quinto, Billy Porter, EJ Johnson, Lena Waithe, Lil Nas X and Princess Nokia. 

Dickinson

Plot: This period series with a modern sense of humor tells the story of the famous American poet Emily Dickinson, played by Hailee Steinfeld, who’s in love with her brother’s wife.
