Since hair salons are closed, you’ve probably been thinking about ways to touch up your roots and how to save your color-treated hair.

In fact, the demand for hair coloring products has significantly increased as more people look to dye their hair at home. Earlier in April, Nielsen reported that sales for hair clippers and hair coloring products increased by 166 percent and 23 percent respectively from the same period last year.

Whether you’re used to dyeing your hair at home or not, finding the right match for your hair color is a tricky task and often takes an expert eye.

That’s part of the reason why L’Oreal has introduced its personalized at-home color service Color & Co. Assembled by a group of licensed colorists and hair salon owners, the brand’s goal is to remove the guesswork for people looking to dye their hair.

How does Color & Co. do it? By giving customers a consultation with a professional online. For example, you can chat with a colorist about your hair’s specific needs, length and density. In turn, the colorist will offer their expertise free of charge. You can also choose to take a hair color quiz that asks you similar questions about your hair goals.

After your consultation, the customization begins. With information based on your profile and hair history, Color & Co will create a personalized L’Oreal formula that will be sent directly to you.

In your Colorbox kit, you’ll receive all of the tools you’ll need to apply your formula, plus a little more. The kit comes with a cream developer, a stain block, a stain eraser, two pairs of gloves, an infuse replenishing conditioner, a reusable color brush and personalized instructions.

While Color & Co is a unisex service, the brand recently launched a collection of colors specifically aimed to address men’s unique hair color needs, a representative from Color & Co. told In The Know.

A recurring subscription is available for $19.90 while one-time purchases retail at $26.90.
