TikTok roasts people spending $1,640 on Louis Vuitton chopsticks

TikTok is roasting a designer fashion brand’s expensive take on a set of chopsticks.

Influencer Jeffrey Huang gives his followers a “daily dose of luxury” on TikTok. Pricey labels and the finer things in life are no stranger to him. But people were stunned when he shared his recent purchase, a set of Louis Vuitton chopsticks.

“You won’t believe what finally came in,” Huang said. “It’s the new Louis Vuitton chopsticks. Comes in this really cute monogram pouch.”

The classic brown “L.V.” monogrammed pouch contained four golden chopsticks. Each of the chopsticks was engraved with the same Louis Vuitton monogram and a floral print.

“These retail for only $1,640,” he explained. “What a steal. I love that there’s monogram all over it. I heard that these enhance the flavor of your food.”

Louis Vuitton said that the set “features four finely engraved chopsticks and two stands presented in a Monogram canvas case. Elegant details include Monogram Flowers on the tips of the chopsticks and natural cowhide trims, while the bright microfiber lining is a nod to the red envelopes offered during Chinese New Year.”

For those curious, the chopsticks are not real gold but instead are described as “gold-colored hardware.”

Despite the video receiving over 4 million views, people on TikTok were not impressed with the expensive item.

“Is this serious or satirical?” a user asked

“Rich people would buy a fart in a jam jar for $1,500 if it was in a Louis Vuitton store,” another said

“I am NOT eating my $0.49 noodles with $1,640 chopsticks,” someone added
