Madewell jeans are no joke. The high-quality denim is durable, comfortable and comes in sizes 23 to 33, with petite and tall options. The brand’s best-selling denim style for five years in a row, however, is the Perfect Vintage Jean. According to its public relations team, one pair sells every other minute. And now, the brand is building on its best-seller and launching a looser, straight-leg version that’s guaranteed to be your new favorite.
The popular Perfect Vintage style is known for its not-too-stretchy denim, its waist-accentuating high-rise and a slim tapered leg. While the originals are more tapered (but not so skinny that they’re like the jeggings of the 2010s), the straight version has all of the same benefits with just a bit of a looser fit in the legs. The new style also features the signature magic pockets that “hold you in” without feeling like too-tight shapewear.
The Perfect Vintage High-Rise Straight Jean comes at a time when Gen Z has deemed skinny jeans out and baggy jeans in. So, no matter which team you’re on — skinny jeans or straight jeans — there’s a fit for you. Hey, maybe you’ll even try both styles (and it’s recommended that you do).
The Perfect Vintage High-Rise Straight Jean officially launched online and in Madewell stores on Monday, Aug. 9, in four washes: light denim, faded black denim and two medium denim colors (one is distressed). The jeans cost $128 to $135, depending on the color.
Be sure to shop all of Madewell’s new denim styles below, but be warned! Once you do bring home a pair or two, you will feel inclined to only wear Madewell jeans from now on. Seriously, they’re that comfy.
