Marvel stars are doing shirtless handstands on Instagram

In case you haven’t noticed, everyone is extremely bored right now — even celebrities. JLo is making TikToks with her family, Ina Garten is throwing together giant cocktails in the morning and the Marvel Cinematic Universe is taking on the shirtless handstand challenge.

It all started when “Spider-Man: Far From Home” star Tom Holland was tasked with the “impossible challenge,” which involves doing a shirtless handstand and then putting a shirt on while upside down.

On April 1, Holland uploaded his successful attempt at the handstand challenge to his Instagram Stories. Though he struggled at first to put his Yankees shirt on, he eventually managed to return to the floor fully clothed (to fans’ dismay).

At the end of the video, Holland challenged fellow MCU stars Ryan Reynolds and Jake Gyllenhaal to step up to the plate. But while one of the actors was more than willing to take the challenge, the other was… not a fan.

In response to Holland’s challenge, Reynolds uploaded a 15-second video to his Instagram story. For the majority of the duration of the video, the “Deadpool” star stared at the camera in disbelief — and toward the end, he simply said, “No.”

Gyllenhaal, meanwhile, gave fans exactly what they wanted: a shirtless video. In a man bun and gray sweatpants, the actor gave off a “hot yoga instructor energy,” as one viewer put it.

“Oh to be Jake Gyllenhaal’s tie-dye T-shirt from a local business,” another person joked.

At the end of his video, Gyllenhaal nominated fellow MCU star Hugh Jackman, as well as 50 Cent and his sister Maggie Gyllenhaal. TBD whether they take the challenge or pull a Ryan Reynolds.
