A mother tried to teach her baby girl how to count in French, but things got hilariously lost in translation.
TikToker @coca.et.vani shared the adorable moment with her daughter. The mom had the 1-year-old repeat after her as she counted in French from one to four. But when the little one heard one of the words, it was already familiar.
Unless you’re a French speaker, you’ll probably want to hear the audio to understand the funny miscommunication.
Here’s the hilarious exchange between the mother and daughter.
Mom: Un
Daughter: Un
Mom: Deux
Daughter: Deux
Mom: Trois.
Daughter: Trois.
Mom: Quatre. (Pronounced like “cat.”)
Daughter: Meow.
“Mama you cant pull one over on me cats go meow,” the mom wrote in the caption.
People on TikTok loved the little girl’s reaction.
“I legit burst out laughing. So freaking adorable,” someone wrote.
“Her version is more fun though,” a user commented.
“This is the level of effort and understanding I bring to most days,” another joked.
“This is the same thing that I went through with my kids trying to teach them French. It was too cute!” a TikToker replied.
“You tried it mom and she was prepared!” a person added.
