Mom’s wipeable ‘glam board’ is perfect practice for future makeup artists: ‘Such a fun hack!’

This TikTok parent created a wipeable “glam board” that’s perfect for kids who love makeup art!

Myriam Sandler (@mothercould) is a parent who shares a variety of DIY activities and life hacks on TikTok. Myriam loves creating fun activities and games for kids, and recently shared an activity that’s perfect for kids who are interested in art or makeup

In the video, Myriam shows how she creates a “glam board” that lets kids practice their makeover skills. The glam board is a cardboard poster decorated with the outlines of eyes, lips, and hands, which kids can add “makeup” to by coloring in the outlines with paint.

To make the glam board, Myriam draws the outlines of eyes, lips, and hands onto a piece of cardboard with a permanent marker. Next, she laminates the board using transparent tape. The tape not only makes the board more durable, but allows kids to easily erase anything they draw on the board.

Next, Myriam demonstrates how the glam board works, giving her daughter a variety of washable paints to use as “makeup.” Her daughter fills in the outlines, adding “nail polish” to the fingernails, “eye shadow” to the eyes, and “lipstick” to the lips. The creative kid uses a wide variety of colors to give the glam board a truly glamorous makeover.

Once she’s done with her glam board makeover, Myriam’s daughter simply wipes the paint off and begins again. The wipeable glam board is perfect for letting kids who are enthusiastic about makeup practice their makeover skills and let their creativity shine.

Parents and viewers jumped into the comments section to show their love for the creative activity.

“Made this for my 5-year-old today and she loved it! Thank you!” one grateful parent wrote.

“Such a fun hack!” another viewer responded.

“Your ideas are so genius,” another wrote.

One parent even shared their thoughts on how to improve upon the activity, writing, “Dry erase markers work as well as paint.”

Research has found that art isn’t just fun for kids—it can actually help them improve their fine motor skills and cognitive development, and even set them up to be better students later in life.

Myriam’s glam board is also a great way to let kids express their enthusiasm for makeup art, without wasting tons of expensive makeup!
