MrBeast is second person ever to hit 100 million YouTube subscribers

It’s finally happened. Another YouTuber has hit 100 million subscribers.

MrBeast, known for his altruistic pranks, has become the second YouTuber to reach the milestone after problematic gamer PewDiePie. Jimmy “MrBeast” Donaldson first launched his channel in 2012 but didn’t garner much viral attention until 2017.

His content seemed to become popular when he began doing more elaborate productions and massive giveaways, like his Squid Game recreation

However, the new superlative isn’t all that shocking. On July 17, MrBeast tweeted that he was basically anticipating the moment.

“We’ve been working on our 100 million subscriber special all year and it’s my most expensive and insane video ever! I can’t wait to hit 100 mil and upload this,” he said

When he reached the milestone, he thanked his fans and promised to stay grounded.

“Over a million people celebrated 100,000,000 subscribers with me. YouTube is the one thing that’s always made me happy and I’m grateful I get to do this all day everyday,” he wrote on Twitter

He added, “Also I just want to say that no matter how big I get I’ll never own a mansion, yacht, Lamborghini etc. All I want is to make the best videos possible and help as many people as I can while doing it.”

There’s still no word on MrBeast’s big plans to commemorate the moment. Guess you’ll have to keep an eye on his YouTube channel.
