A meal in a mug is the perfect solution for when you want a quick and easy dish that’s also delicious and satisfying. Plus, cleanup is a breeze when you’re only cooking with a mug and a microwave. From mug pizza to mug mac ‘n’ cheese, it’s amazing what you can cook up in a matter of minutes. If you’re looking for a new way to serve your favorites, grab a mug and get started with these five quick and easy mug recipes

1. Microwave mug pizza

This recipe is a serious game changer for pizza “aficiona-doughs!” Begin by mixing all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt combined with milk and olive oil in a mug. Next, gently spread some marinara sauce on top, followed by shredded mozzarella cheese and tiny pepperoni slices. Pop the mug in the microwave for one to two minutes and enjoy!

2. Microwave mug omelet

Who knew an omelet could taste so yummy in a mug? Start by spraying cooking spray on the inside of a mug. Next, add an egg and milk. Then mix those together. Add in some green onions followed by tomatoes and shredded cheddar cheese. After mixing the ingredients, microwave on high for two minutes before serving with a tiny spoon.

This mug lasagna is the perfect recipe to whip up if you’re short on time and feeling saucy. First, break apart a few lasagna noodles, and add those to a mug along with water. Then microwave it for three minutes. Next, assemble the lasagna by adding a layer of marinara sauce followed by a few cooked lasagna noodles, ricotta cheese, Italian seasoning and mozzarella cheese. Repeat this process until the mug is full. Then pop it in the microwave for two to three minutes and enjoy!

4. Vegan and gluten-free microwave mug French toast

This decadent recipe features French toast with nuts and berries stuffed into a mug. Begin by cutting gluten-free bread into cubes. Then soak the bread cubes in a mix of plant-based eggs, plant-based milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, vanilla and maple syrup. Next, fill a mug with the battered bread cubes. Then add some strawberry slices, walnuts and another layer of gluten-free bread. Finally, microwave for five minutes. Then top with powdered sugar and maple syrup. 

5. Microwave mug mac ‘n’ cheese

You don’t need to be a student to enjoy this delicious dorm room staple. First, add macaroni, water and salt to a mug. Then microwave for three to five minutes. Once the macaroni is cooked, drain the water and mix in milk and cornstarch. Then add grated cheese, salt, pepper and red chili powder. Mix those ingredients and microwave for one minute. After cooking, give the noodles and cheese another mix to thicken the sauce. Then top with green onions and enjoy!
