Tennis star Naomi Osaka is pregnant, expecting her 1st baby with rapper Cordae

Professional tennis player and four-time major champion Naomi Osaka announced on Jan. 11 that she is expecting her first baby with rapper Cordae.

Osaka, 25, made the announcement via Twitter, stating, “Can’t wait to get back on the court but here’s a little life update for 2023.”

Alongside a photo of an ultrasound monitor, Osaka shared two screenshots of Notes app notes, one in English and one in Japanese.

“The past few years have been interesting to say the least,” Osaka’s note reads. “But I find that its the most challenging times in life that may be the most fun.”

In 2021, Osaka made headlines after withdrawing from the French Open, then making several public statements about her struggles with mental health. She has not played since the Toray Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo in September 2022.

“These few months away from the sport has really given me a new love and appreciation for the game I’ve dedicated my life to,” her note explains.

“I realize that life is so short and I don’t take any moments for granted, everyday is a new blessing and adventure.”

According to People, the tennis pro and the Grammy-nominated rapper began dating in 2019. This will be the first child for each of them.

Osaka concluded her note by announcing she will be at the Australian Open in 2024, followed by the postscript, “I don’t think there’s a perfectly correct path to take in life but I always felt that if you move forward with good intentions you’ll find your way eventually.”
