New Balance and Staud have teamed up for an activewear capsule collection filled with vibrant leggings and nylon bubble crop tops to bring the ultimate mood-boosting workout attire to life.

The LA-based brand, which launched in 2015 by Sarah Staudinger and George Augusto, has quickly become one of the most coveted fashion labels in modern day. Known for its irresistibly cool and colorful approach to Instagram-ready pieces, Staud’s success not only comes from the creativity the brand brews but also its moderate price point compared to luxury brands in the same tier.

The collaboration is mutually a big win for both brands. New Balance has given Staud a massive platform by introducing the small label to its millions of loyal legacy customers, while Staud is solidifying New Balance’s ‘cool’ factor in the style space.

Augusto explained that the collaboration was inspired by a 1978 photo of actress Susan Sarandon wearing New Balances. “There is this photo of Susan Sarandon on a balcony in Cannes in 1978, at the film festival, and she’s wearing a pair of chic pants and New Balance running shoes and it all fit so perfectly,” he told Footwear News. “With her strength as a woman, that whole image was so indicative for us. It was a great starting point, we thought if we can capture that in the collection, that would be it.”

The heart of the collaboration is the iconic New Balance’s 997 silhouette that has been re-imagined with Staud’s signature touch in the form of punchy hues and color blocking.

“It was the shoe we wanted to collaborate on; it’s such a classic style and we wanted to keep it that way,” Staudinger told Footwear news. “It was about infusing it with our aesthetics and color and optimism, just giving it a little fun flare.”

The apparel, which ranges from $60 to $180, includes an array of fashion-forward styles like the kelly green biker shorts and convertible windbreaker. With performance spandex and nylon at the forefront of the fabrics, the NB x Staud collection is the perfect opportunity to elevate your workout wardrobe. Shop our favorites below:
