In this episode of 1K Dream Room, host Will Taylor (@brightbazaar) gives Jenny’s unusually elongated bedroom a warm refresh with just one day to complete the transformation and $1,000 to spend on it. With features like wooden floors, crown moldings, high ceilings, and loads of natural light, Jenny’s bedroom has tons of potential to become the calm and cozy oasis she desires. In addition to wanting a more serene and homier space, Jenny is also looking to incorporate a little more function into her bedroom, ultimately allowing her to decompress calmly after a long day of work.

First up, Will hangs a full-length floor mirror opposite the window so that more light can enter the space. Will gives Jenny’s bed area a few embellishments by adding a pair of Euro sham pillows in place of a headboard and a reclaimed wood stool nightstand at the foot of the bed.

Next, Will creates a cozy reading nook in the far left corner of Jenny’s bedroom. He places a scalloped 3-drawer dresser against the wall next to an upholstered mustard velvet accent chair with two front legs resting on a circular rug to zone out the space.

Will accessorizes the reading nook by placing a gold Florentine-inspired vanity mirror, gold vanity tray, and a wicker vase with white tulips on the dresser. An arched floor lamp and a banana leaf plant sit behind the chair, creating a cozy ambiance. For a finishing touch, Will installs a modern ladder bookshelf and styles it with various decorative items.

Upon seeing her new bedroom for the first time, Jenny is blown away by its unique warmth and coziness. Overall, Jenny loves her bedroom’s new use of space and functional accent features. This bright and comfortable bedroom takes full advantage of the natural light and neutral color scheme and will definitely help Jenny unwind after a long day.
