On this episode of In The Know: Find My Dream Room, host Will Taylor (@brightbazaar) helps Mark find a solo Manhattan apartment since his roommates are all moving out to live with their significant others. Mark has his heart set on a space with unique architecture, a lot of character, and plenty of natural sunlight. Working with a budget of $2,000, can Will help Mark find the space of his dreams?
The first apartment Will shows Mark is a 1-bedroom that’s slightly over budget at $2,200. Mark loves that the apartment has an entire wall of exposed brick, and a built-in fireplace. The space also boasts a large closet and plenty of windows.
The next space on Will’s agenda is a studio apartment for $1,800. Mark likes the crown molding around the ceiling, and while it is a studio, he likes that it still feels spacious. The kitchen also has a dishwasher, which is a rare find in New York City.
Lastly, Will shows Mark a 1-bedroom for $2,100. Mark is happy with the high ceilings and all the natural light the space gets, but he admits that he likes some of the other spaces Will showed him a bit more.
One month later, Mark gives us an update and reveals he’s subletting a friend’s place in Brooklyn, but he had a great time exploring spaces with Will in Manhattan.
