Rochell is a professional football player and has played in the NFL for the last six years. Despite being a professional athlete with a strenuous workout routine, Rochell finds it difficult to keep his weight down. In a relatable video, Rochell shared that he “can’t lose weight either” and advised his followers not to let Instagram influencers make them feel bad about their bodies.
“I don’t know who needs to hear this, but I can’t lose weight either,” Rochell says, shaking his head as he looks into the camera. A “sadder” version of the viral corn song, performed by @grabbitzofficial, plays in the background.
“I mean, I’m in the NFL,” he says. “I work out every single day. I practice every single day.”
Then Rochell pauses for a moment and clarifies.
“Well, six out of every seven days I’m practicing and working out,” he says. “I can’t lose weight either.”
With a serious expression on his face, Rochell continues, “So, don’t feel the pressure from these Instagram models and TikTok influencers,” he says, taking a bite of his lunch. “I can’t lose, either. It’s OK.”
Viewers applauded Rochell’s honesty and shared their own experiences.
“Thanks for this. Appreciate you,” one viewer wrote.
“This made me cry. Thank you for reminding us of this reality,” wrote another TikToker.
“[I’ve] been eating under 2,000 calories and working out steadily for 3 months and have only lost 5 pounds. I feel it,” shared another viewer. To which Rochell replied, “It’s a struggle for real.”
Rochell’s relatable video shows that even professional athletes can struggle to reach their fitness goals.
