This no-sew hack will help your dress fit perfectly

If you’re sick of belting all those loose-fitting dresses and tunics, this is the perfect hack

There’s nothing like picking up the perfect dress only to find it doesn’t fit like how you imagined. But a little excess fabric around the waist is something we can all work with. Sometimes, a belt can be the perfect accessory for a look that just isn’t form-fitting enough. Other times, it can overwhelm or even take away from an outfit.

In The Know’s Lisa Azcona has a super simple hack to cinch the waist on a dress that’s too big without sacrificing style

“I actually have a slip dress that I love, but it’s a little big and unflattering on me, especially if I don’t style it with a belt. I just wish it was a little tighter around the waist,” she says.

“Take any bangle or bracelet with a sturdy round shape, and place it on the outside of the dress around your waist area,” Lisa explains. “Then, on the inside of the dress, secure the bangle in place with a hair tie. And that’s pretty much it.”

The bangle created a small, twisted fold on the dress that looked like it was a seamless part of the design — and is very on-trend.

“Really, what the hack has allowed you to do is cinch the dress at the waist in a very discreet way,” she says. “So cool, right?
