Nursery camera captures dog’s strange behavior in off-limits baby room: ‘He doesn’t know we installed a camera’

A dog was caught red-pawed when sneaking into a forbidden room in the house, and the footage has gone totally viral.

The sneaky pup, named Beef, first gained Internet fame when Google Nest uploaded the video to YouTube. Since then, it’s been shared across every social media platform imaginable, racking up millions of views with each upload.

Much like the fiercely protective “nanny dog” who wouldn’t let her baby human climb the stairs, Beef clearly has a special connection with his family’s little one, judging based on how much he loves sneaking into their room.

While we’ve seen hidden cameras capture special moments before — like the stepdad who accidentally recorded his bonus son saying “I love you” for the first time, or the mom who had no idea she filmed the moment that saved her entire marriage — Beef’s “dirty dancing” might just be the best candid moment ever.

In the video’s caption, Beef’s owner explains, “This is my dog, Beef. Beef is not allowed in the baby’s room when we are not in there. On this day, the babysitter gave him free roam of the house, so he took full advantage of it. As you can see, he really enjoyed himself.”

Beef’s baby room antics were such a hit, the video was nominated for a Nestie, a Google Nest contest that gives awards for the best customer-contributed videos captured on their Nest cameras. The category? Best Choreography.

“This is so pure…”

Later, the footage made its way to TikTok, where users were delighted by Beef’s secret and strange behavior.

“Leaving my scent for the baby!” one user joked, pretending to be Beef.

“This is so pure,” another user wrote.

“You said he couldn’t go into the room via walking. You said nothing about crawling, that’s on you,” joked another user.

Beef’s joy is so infectious, the footage is sure to live on, manifesting in whatever social media app comes next. Some viral videos are so classic, they go down in Internet history, and continue spreading happiness wherever they go!
