Former President Barack Obama shared his favorite songs of 2019 to Twitter on Dec. 30.
The post, which, according to Obama, includes a list of 35 songs ranging “from hip-hop to country to The Boss,” features a vast array of genres and artists.
“If you’re looking for something to keep you company on a long drive or help you turn up a workout, I hope there’s a track or two in here that does the trick,” the former president wrote on Twitter.
Obama’s list includes plenty of A-list acts — including Lizzo, Beyoncé, Bruce Springsteen, J. Cole and Lil Nas X — but also features plenty of lesser-known musicians.
For example, the post gave mention to beloved indie rockers Big Thief, Washington, D.C.-based rapper Goldlink and singer Maggie Rogers, who recently received a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist.
The 44th president also gave shoutouts to numerous international artists, such as Nigerian rapper Burna Boy and critically acclaimed Spanish singer Rosalía.
Obama’s post came just one day after he revealed his favorite movies and TV shows of 2019 — a list featuring films such as “Little Women,” “Parasite” and “American Factory,” the Netflix documentary distributed by him and Michelle Obama’s production company, Higher Ground Productions.
Just one day earlier, Obama also shared a list of his favorite books of 2019.
