Move over Bryce Hall, Addison Rae has got a potential new boo with a stacked resume.
The mega influencer had a messy split from Hall when she publicly implied he cheated on her. Now the He’s All That star was spotted cozying up to Omer Fedi, an acclaimed guitarist, songwriter and producer. In July, Billboard dubbed him the “prodigy bringing guitar back to Top 40.” Here’s everything you need to know about the hitmaker who has worked with Lil Nas X and 24KGoldn.
Who is Omer Fedi?
Born on Mar. 25, 2000, Fedi is currently 21 years old. He was born in Tel Aviv, Israel. When he was 16, he moved to Los Angeles with his father, who is an accomplished drummer. Fedi began playing guitar at age 10, inspired by Drake of Nickelodeon’s Drake & Josh.
Fedi has worked on several Billboard-charting hits
He played guitar and produced Lil Nas X’s Billboard-topping hit “Montero (Call Me by Your Name.)” Fedi co-wrote “Mood” by 24kGoldn featuring Iann Dior which also nabbed Billboard’s No. 1 spot. He worked on Machine Gun Kelly’s album Tickets to My Downfall which peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Fedi has collaborated with other popular artists, including Ella Mai, Miley Cyrus, The Kid LAROI and Yungblund.
He only collaborates with friends
“I wanna make my friends the biggest artists in the world,” Fedi told MTV News.
Despite his publisher Universal Music Publishing Group, pressuring him to work with artists he didn’t know, Fedi was adamant about fostering real relationships.
“I don’t understand how you can make music with someone that isn’t your friend, or someone random,” Fedi told Variety. “If you don’t vibe together as a human, even if both of you are incredible musicians, you just can’t make good music.”
He prefers to work with undiscovered talent but made an exception for Lil Nas X
Fedi discovered the indigenous Australian rapper The Kid LAROI on Soundcloud. He reached out to The Kid LAROI on Instagram which led to Fedi co-writing “Without You” with the rapper. The song’s remix would become LAROI’s first top 10 song.
“He’s one of my closest friends and to see this song we did together blow up is incredible,” Fedi told Variety of The Kid LAROI.
When he was still in high school, the guitarist met 24kGoldn at a college party for USC students. They hit it off and have been collaborating since.
However, it. was Columbia chairman and CEO Ron Perry was the one that recommended Fedi work with Lil Nas X. The two became fast friends.
“The second we met, we were just, like, best friends and started hanging out,” Fedi told Variety. “I went to his Airbnb every day and we were just making music and watching movies. I’m always a big fan of artists like Nas that you can never know how their next single is gonna sound like. I like challenges.”
He is super ambitious
Considered one of the hottest producers right now, Fedi can make up to $50,000 per track, according to Billboard.
“If it’s not No. 1, I have nothing right now,” Fedi told Billboard.
When he learned of his first No. 1, his response was, “I was like, ‘Oh. That’s cool,'” adding “I have 40 more to go now.”
He might be dating Addison Rae
On July 30, Rae posted an Instagram Story that showed the silhouettes of two people embracing each other. Then Fedi posted the same video on his Instagram Story. Fans believed this meant they were an item.
However, besides the video, neither Rae nor Fedi has confirmed or denied their romance.
