Although I’m well out of high school, the idea of back-to-school shopping still gets me excited. However, if I was prepping for going back to school, I would have certainly hit up the under $30 gadget that is the Omoton Bluetooth Keyboard instead of investing in (several) laptops throughout high school and college.
To be very frank, I actually knew someone who spent their entire college career writing all their essays from their smartphone. Unfortunately, they didn’t have the Omoton Bluetooth Keyboard with the sliding stand to make writing essays any easier.
TikTok creator Maxie Elise is responsible for making this cool back-to-school gadget go viral. In the video, Elise describes how easy the keyboard is to use. After connecting it to an iPhone via Bluetooth, Elise pulls out the back of the pink keyboard to reveal a stand, which also perfectly fits an iPad, too.
I’m not sure if it’s the smell of office supplies or the idea of getting my life together that hypes me up for the back-to-school season. I do know, however, that this $25 keyboard-stand duo plus my smartphone or iPad would have lessened the weight on my back while moving from class to class.

Over 1,300 people have reviewed the product and it already has 4.3 out of five stars. One shopper said they had received a faulty keyboard, but it was quickly replaced by customer service.
“I’m really pleased about this because before it stopped working, I loved this keyboard,” the shopper wrote. “It’s MUCH better than the $100 keyboard that I bought from Apple, which is small and awkward to use. This one is larger and easier to use and has more functions.”
The Omoton Bluetooth keyboard runs on 1 AA battery and it’s compatible with iPads and iPhones, like the iPad 10.2, iPad Air 10.5 and 9.7 and the iPad mini 5, 4, 3 and 2. However, the new iPad Pro 12.9 and 11 may be too for the sliding stand to support. But it’s also compatible with the iPhone 11 Pro max, the 11 Pro, the Xs Max/XS/XR/SE/8 Plus and more.
If for some reason you don’t need the extra stand but need a wireless keyboard, Omoton offers a slimmer version of the Bluetooth gadget. The “Ultra-Slim” version is even more lightweight, takes up less desk space and is perfect for on-the-go work.

This version of the Bluetooth keyboard without the attached stand actually has more reviews — over 6,000 to be exact. With 4.4 out of five stars, this one gets even more praise from Amazon shoppers. Not to mention, it’s $7 cheaper. But not everyone loves it.
One customer who left one star for the keyboard said that after around five minutes, the gizmo “loses its Bluetooth connectivity after inactivity.”
“Normally you could just press the pause or skip button and in an instant, the song torture would be over,” the reviewer said in the review. “With this keyboard, just tapping a key tells it to wake up. Then 5 seconds later it will connect. Then you can try to pause or skip your song. Torture.”
Another customer, who left a lengthy review on each facet of the keyboard, said their main reason for giving it praise was for its shape.
“This is the main reason I love this keyboard,” the customer said in a review. “It has a ‘normal’ keyboard feel to it. I like thicker buttons that feel like a traditional keyboard because I can type faster with it.”
Ultimately, it all depends on how you work, but one of these keyboards can make schoolwork or work, a lot easier for your day-to-day needs.
