If you’re the person who picks the pickles off your burgers, this article is not for you. Pickle lovers, on the other hand, you need to know about the pickle jar that’s going viral on TikTok.

People started posting about the “pickle flip jar” on the platform as early as 2020. But now, nearly two years later, it’s almost hard to scroll through your feed without seeing one.

Essentially, it’s an hourglass-shaped jar. When you pour your pickles into the top part, the juice drains through to the bottom part of the jar. Then, you can get your pickles without getting your hands all juicy. However, since the juice drains into the bottom part of the hourglass, you can simply flip the jar to soak your pickles again. This will keep your pickles nice and flavorful when you store them in the fridge.

Is it necessary? Probably not. But is it cool? You bet. Use it for gherkins, pickle chips, olives and other smaller pickle types. Full dill pickle spears won’t exactly fit, but you can use TikTok’s favorite pickle fork to get those out mess-free. Another option is this larger pickle basket container that Amazon shoppers seem to love. (More than 2,000 shoppers give it a five-star rating.)

Nonetheless, you can get your own pickle flip jar on Amazon for about $15. If you eat a lot of pickles, it’s worth at least trying.
