Boyfriend slammed for ‘rude’ reaction to girlfriend’s lunch: ‘Learn how to communicate like an adult’

A boyfriend is being called out for his callous response to his girlfriend’s food

He asked Reddit’s “Am I the A******? (AITA)” forum to weigh in. He and his girlfriend went ice skating. When they came back home, it was her turn to make dinner. She made chicken salad.

“When I saw the chicken salad I admit I made a face,” he wrote

She asked him what was wrong. He explained that he wasn’t in the “mood for cold food” after skating in the cold all day.

“She said we’re inside, the heat is set to 74° and we’re both wearing warm dry clothes, so it was plenty warm enough to eat salad,” he wrote

When he explained that he wanted to warm up his insides, she told him he was being “ridiculous.” After going in circles for a while, he told her he was just going to heat up some soup.

“When I came out of the kitchen with my soup she was clearly upset,” he explained

Redditors thought he was being insensitive.

“Making a rude face isn’t necessary. That’s kind of basic manners,” a user said

“Learn how to communicate like an adult instead of a child,” another commented

“If you wanted something warm for dinner, you should have articulated that in advance,” someone replied.
