Mom slams daughter’s favorite celebrity for not taking photo with her: ‘How entitled do you have to be?’

A mom is defending her choice to interrupt a celebrity at a private event.

She explained what happened on Reddit’s “Am I the A******? (AITA)” forum. Her daughter happened to spot her favorite celebrity, “A.” But when her daughter went to get a picture with A, she was promptly shut down.

“She was stopped by A’s security,” the mom wrote. “They said that A’s there with her daughter for her daughter’s birthday and wants to focus on her daughter.”

The woman’s daughter was crushed, so the woman blogged about the experience with the celebrity.

“A 1 minute interaction with a fan isn’t going to ruin her day and if it does, that girl needs to learn that the world doesn’t revolve around her,” the mom explained

Her blog post got a lot of attention, but not many people were on her side. They felt like she and her daughter were being “entitled” for demanding the celebrity take a picture. Her husband agreed with the assessment.

“I’m not trying to bash her for spending the day with her daughter,” the mom said. “But she wouldn’t be where she is without her fans so I think she at least owes it to them to take a picture.”

Redditors felt the mom still hadn’t learned her lesson.

“How entitled do you have to be to think they owe you something?!” a user wrote.

“This was a chance for her daughter to learn that she’s not entitled to other people’s time no matter how famous they are,” another commented.

“Celebrities are allowed to go about their day with their family without having to interact with fans,” someone added.
